  23. Install Notes:
  24.  
  25.     Step 1. Place NFA CBT in CD-Rom drive.
  26.                              
  27.     Step 2. Run the Install Program:                          
  28.                                                                
  29.         * Click on the Start button.                   
  30.                                                          
  31.          * Highlight the Run menu.                      
  32.                                                           
  33.         * Type in the letter of your CD-ROM drive.                          
  34.                                                              
  35.         * If your CD-ROM drive uses the letter D, type    
  36.            d:\setup.exe in the Open box of the Run menu. In   
  37.            general, the command will be:            
  38.           (drive letter of CD-ROM):\Setup.exe.          
  39.                                                                   
  40.         * Click on the "OK" button.

  44.        Step 3. NFA CBT Database System
  45.         
  46.         * If the database system has not been installed on
  47.           your computer, or if a component is missing, you 
  48.           will be shown a dialog with an "Install" button.
  49.             
  50.               Go ahead and press "Install", and the database system
  51.           will be installed.
  52.         
  53.         * None of the NFA CBT Simulation CBTs will
  54.           run properly without the NFA Database System.
  55.         
  56.         * After the install of the database system, you will
  57.           be returned to the NFA CBT setup program.

  60.     Step 4. NFA CBT Setup Program
  61.  
  62.         * Follow the directions on the dialogs you will be
  63.           shown- they will guide you through the installation.

  65.         * Accept the default location for the NFA CBT.

  68. note:    The entire install (NFA CBT Database System, and NFA CBT)
  69.     should be allowed to run through to the end. See 
  70.         troubleshooting for a message you may get during the install.

  75. Running the NFA CBT:
  76.     
  77.     Windows 95:
  78.         * Open the Start Menu
  79.         * Open the Programs menu
  80.         * Go to "NFA [CBT NAME] CBT"
  81.  
  82.     For example, if you are installing the Townhouse CBT, go to
  83.     
  84.      "NFA Townhouse CBT"
  85.  
  86.         * Click [CBT NAME] icon
  87.  
  88.     Continuing with the above example, you would click on the
  89.           icon labeled "Townhouse".

  93. The CBT Assistant and sending records to NFA from your local site
  94.  
  95. NOTE: The CBT Database Assistant Wizard should not be used each time 
  96. a student takes the test. Rather, it should be used to process groups 
  97. of student records.  The student records should be processed 
  98. approximately 50-75 student records should be processed at a time.

  100. Consult the help file that comes with the NFA CBT Database System
  101. for more information on how to send the records to NFA.

  107. Hardware Incompatibilities
  108.  
  109. ATI Rage Pro video cards are not supported by the NFA CBT series of
  110. Incident Command CD-ROMS.
  111.  
  112. There are a limited number of other known hardware incompatibilities.
  113. If problems develop, check the Authorware on line tech notes at
  114.  
  115. www.macromedia.com/support/authorware.   Tech note #3051.

  120. System Requirements
  121.  
  122. Windows 95; Pentium 166 processor; 32 MB RAM; 150 MB hard disk space;
  123. 4x CD-ROM; Super VGA monitor; True Color (64k) @ 640 x 480 resolution;
  124. mouse; 16-bit soundcard and audio speakers.

  128. TROUBLESHOOTING:
  129.  
  130. 1. During the installation, you may be prompted with the 
  131.    message:
  132.  
  133.    "The OLE system files are in-use and cannot be updated. The
  134.     installation will restart windows to update OLE. You must 
  135.     re-run this installation after windows restarts to complete
  136.     the installation."
  137.  
  138.     This message is normal. Restart windows, then run the 
  139.     installation again. You will not receive the above message
  140.     again.
  141.  
  142. 2.  When the database system has been completely installed, you may be 
  143.     prompted to restart your machine depending on your computer's 
  144.     configuration. In this case, go ahead and restart, then run the
  145.     setup program on your CD again to install the NFA CBT. Only 
  146.     the database system has been installed at this time.
